"Sketchbook is my playground. While my artwork seems to be detailed and well thought-out, my sketches are quite the opposite. It's a place for experiment and discovery, and I have my sketchbook by my side at all times, because you never know when you make a realisation of something cool. I find things cool in everyday surroundings, in people I talk to, in natural patterns, in raw emotion I get from it. When I can't put it into drawing, I write things down so I empty my head for new ideas. There is something incredibly liberating about that."
Lena is a visual artist coming from a scientific substrate, rich soil for art making. Lena had a solo exhibition at Ideas Block in 2017.https://www.facebook.com/lenaklyukinadrawings/
This work is a part of "Source - Process" exhibition - about the bursts of the artists’ spirit, and creativity. It is a show about the creative mind at work. Artists, who became part of Ideas Block during this first year, will showcase their ideas-development process through the fragments of notes, sketches, unfinished works and ideas, taken from their notebooks, papers, camera films, or elsewhere. Abstract, unfinished ideas, realisations, shapeless stimuli, coming in and out of context. A peek into the artist's inner source and intent.
